Garvey Sweatshirt
Marcus Mosiah Garvey founded the United Negro Improvement Association in 1914, helping to spread the support and encouragement of entreprenuership amongst black neighborhoods in Jamaica and the U.S. Those that were empowered by his words proudly bore the name of Garveyites. With the help of about 2 million members, Garvey established the Negro Factories Corporation and the Black Star Line (1919), as well as a chain of restaurants and grocery stores, laundries, a hotel, and a printing press.
