Self-Care Weekend #Black-owned Style

Self-Care Weekend #Black-owned Style

Self-care is the wave right now, as it should be. What better way to make your self feel like a million bucks than supporting Black-owned brands while doing it?

Honey Pot herbal-infused pads

First up, Honey Pot Herbal-infused pads. Girl... can I just say these pads are a spa for your box... in a bag! That time of the month can be super uncomfortable, but these pads will make it better! A surprisingly cool sensation of mint accompanied by the calming scent of lavender truly does make the difference. Great absorbency will ease your worries about leaks. My only wish is that over time, they will improve the sticker that holds the pad in place. Overall, spa level! I felt special and even looked forward to changing pads during a time that usually makes me feel annoyed.

You can pick up your own at Target stores, as well as directly from Bea Dixon at The Honey Pot.

Camille Rose Twist Butter

Hair Love

If you are loving on yourself this weekend, you are definitely also showing your hair some loving care. Camille Rose hair products came highly recommended by my sons' barber. Everything I was using was making their hair look dry & dirty. Camille Rose nourishes your hair without the yucky residue and, in the words of my youngest, makes your hair smell like cookies! Steam up your shower, wash & condition your hair, and make sure you apply this Almond Jai twist butter to all of your strands for lasting moisture. Not too heavy for thinner hair either.

Aunt Jackie's Curl La La is your go to for daily upkeep. When you wash and treat on Saturday, refresh on Sunday with this great smelling, moisturizing custard. Again, no nasty residue! Aunt Jackie's pulls out all your curls and makes them look healthy immediately. I love this for smoothing my hair into a ponytail to go to the gym!

Either of these products are available at your local Target or Shoprite, or directly from Aunt Jackie's at  https://auntjackiescurlsandcoils.com/shop/ and Camille Rose at https://www.camillerose.com/collections/
