Martin Luther King Jr.'s Legacy - Day of Service
Share
In 2021, MLK Jr.'s legacy is more important than ever. We are reminded of the global attention he brought to the injustice Black People were suffering at the hands of terroristic police, firemen, national guards, restaurant servers, and any other white supremist on the street. MLK Jr.'s strategy of non-violence created an undeniable dichotomy that led to the passing of several Civil Rights laws, eliminating the legality of Jim Crow.
The Jan 6th terror attack on our Capital was yet another violent call to attention of the severe inequality existing in our country. The world is watching and listening, and we must again show our strength in the face of wolves.
This year, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, show your strength by making it a day of service. Search out your local organizations to see where they need help. Here are some organizations on the east coast that need help:
Sterling House Community Center - A Community Call To Action for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend
100Suits - Building Up Our Community and Next Generation of Men
Columbus House - Providing solutions to homelessness since 1982
Global Citizen 365 - MLK Day of Service Volunteer Opportunity Search
